Handover Template
A good handover is not just an admin task. It protects the club’s continuity, reduces stress for incoming volunteers and helps avoid the common cycle of lost passwords, missing documents, repeated mistakes and confusion about who is doing what. Strong handovers should cover documents, decisions, contacts, systems, responsibilities, current issues and practical advice. The best clubs treat handover as part of ongoing succession planning, not something left until the last week of a term.
The strongest clubs also create a proper induction process for incoming committee members. CPRG can support this through board induction training, and clubs with the strongest annual transitions often have us complete a First Whistle each year as part of resetting expectations, clarifying roles and getting the new committee aligned from day one.
