Noosa District Sports Complex LMP

Land Management Plan | 2023

Noosa Council is preparing a Land Management Plan for Noosa District Sports Complex. Primarily, the requirement for this plan has been triggered by the proposed development of the ReGen Noosa Wellbeing and Community Hub (ReGen Noosa).

Land management plans are a requirement of the Queensland Government for certain parcels of trust land managed by trustees, such as Councils. Trust land is a collective term used to describe state-owned land, which has been reserved or granted in trust under the Land Act 1994 for a particular purpose. Noosa District Sports Complex has been designated Reserve for Recreation.

ReGen Noosa will provide the Noosa Shire with an innovative multi-purpose space that integrates sport, recreation and allied health with a range of not-for-profit user groups and other community services.

To offer a truly integrated community, health and wellbeing precinct, ReGen Noosa will comprise the following:

  • Amenities and associated infrastructure for rugby league, based on universal design principles and in compliance with the NRL Preferred Facility Guidelines

    • Associated infrastructure includes change rooms for players and officials, first aid amenities, coaches’ boxes, media facilities, canteen, bar and kiosk, PWD, male, female and unisex toilets and showers with separate, lockable cubicles

  • Indoor and outdoor spaces for health and wellness programs, services and activities

  • Community spaces that provide clubhouse infrastructure for co-located sporting organisations and a hireable venue for not-for-profit user groups

  • Training space for the delivery of education, accreditation and capacity building programs

  • Administration and office space for both permanent and hot-desk arrangements

  • A gymnasium for use by onsite user groups, and for delivery of community-based physical activity programs

Other infrastructure developments proposed for Noosa District Sports Complex, which are separate from but complementary to the ReGen Noosa precinct include:

  • A new link road throughout Noosa District Sports Complex, eliminating pedestrian/vehicle conflict

  • A multi-purpose play space, incorporating fitness and parkour elements

  • A ‘Noosa-style’ pedestrian and cycle network and learn-to-ride infrastructure

  • A range of facility improvements proposed by primary site user groups

The Noosa community was invited to provide input to the land management planning process by completing an online feedback form and/or attending an on-site open day, as below:
